What they are saying
For eighteen months the armed bandit they called
'Dead Ned' was the terror of the private security services, robbing
the armed transports and the vaults of the wealthy. During that
time he was shot several times but seemed impossible to kill, earning
him the comparison to bushranger Ned Kelly and something of a folk
hero status as he never seriously hurt anyone and seemed impossible
to catch or even to get reliable descriptions or security images.
That all went very wrong during a robbery where a
bystander was killed and Dead Ned was eventually brought down,
fatally wounded. Exposed as small time crim Glen Brewer, the legend
seemed destined to fade away until rumours began to spread that Dead
Ned was back...
But really....
Dane Brewer knew his
big brother Glen was up to something but had no inkling of what. As
a graff writer, Dane was happy to stay out of his brother's business
if the favour was returned. After the funeral he kept digging for the
truth and found out some of the story of betrayal and corruption.
Taking up the mantle of Dead Ned, Dane and his closest friends will
find out who is responsible for Glen's death.
Mashup Abilities
Like his legendary
namesake, Dane has tapped into the power of The Hooded Bandit,
the hero of the people who steals from the rich (and does not
necessarily give to the poor). Various bandits, highwaymen and
bushrangers have accessed these powers over the years which grants
invulnerability to bullets (and arrows) and strange shroud around
identity. Witnesses can never quite remember a face, security
footage covered in shadows or interference.
Stories
Crime capers set
against a background of urban corruption and organised crime.
Crooked lawyer Seth Pheles has been consolidating power in the
criminal underbelly under Su-Tek Private Security and arranging the
death of Dead Ned was all part of a much bigger plan.
