Fate Inc.

What they are saying

Science may have given us the GPS, teflon coating and the but it also opens the door to a universe of nightmares, catastrophes and rogue phenomena ever ready to spill out into the world. Most people remain in blissful ignorance of the threats to reality which are routinely dispatched by the three brilliant freelance scientists of Fate Inc. Most people are ignorant, but the interwebs are abuzz with rumours as supposition.

But really....

The three Kindler sisters were once the wunderkind of the scientific community, gifted in the fields of quantum physics, mathematical complexity and evolutionary biology. Brought low by a plagiarism scandal (engineered by the egregious Dr Buchner) they have found new careers in the private sector as freelance scientists of the strange. A mysterious benefactor has set them up with offices and laboratories as 'Fate Inc', investigators of rogue science.

Mashup Abilities

Each of the Kindler sisters is a brilliant scientist in her own right and possess abilities are connected to the power of the Fates, as articulated through scientific concepts of complexity, emergent order and chaotic dynamics.

Sissy (Lachesis) can measure and perceive the strands of causation and complexity, tracing out different paths of destiny. This also makes her a deadly martial artist and a terrifying driver. Her fields are mathematics and software engineering.
CT (Clotho) can spin physical forces such as gravity or magnetics. Her fields are evolutionary biology and extreme medicine.
Po (Atropos) possesses the power to cut or nullify forces, to pull the inertia our of projectiles or the heat out of combustion. Her fields are quantum physics, electronics and robotics.

Stories

Fate Inc face a variety of weird menaces, terror scientists and incursions of the strange. Their chief enemy, Dr Buchner, is also a mashup who personifies the corrupt deity Cromm Cruach and hollow madness at the centre of order. Dr Buchner corrupts other scientists, his solution to the so-called 'god theorem' turns regular geniuses into mad geniuses bent on destruction.
